Ya'Niece Jones

Hillcrest Academy North's Attendance Matters! Program continues to create an environment of success and positive culture. Students are still striving to make it to school everyday. Our Monday breakfast is encouraging students to come in everyday, and getting up has become habit. Our "Student of the Month" has done quite the turn around from last year. Ya'Niece has an 87% attendance rate and is an Honor Role student for the first marking period. This is a dramatic change from last year when her attendance rate was below 50%. She has made an effort to be here every day, and it shows in her grades, her attendance, and her attitude at school. "I need to graduate soon, so I decided to change my mindset."

Ya'Niece is one of the 44 students who were in the Green Zone - having an 80% attendance rate and above, who were invited to go on the Attendance Matters! Incentive Trip. These students maintained the 80% since the beginning of school. Students went to Jersey Lanes Bowling in Linden.
